Instructions

Here you will find instructions for how to use the Pro Se From Hell documents.  Pay attention as we will explain how each document is used and what to expect from the court.  We will explain what the law commands public officials to do and what you can actually expect them to do.  We will also provide documents to address the expected responses.

This top page is in a separate section.   You can delete this page before printing or simply leave it and it will print but the page numbering will start at the first page of the actual document.  There is a section break at the end of this section.  Make sure you do not delete it or it will screw up the page numbering.

To make sure it looks right on the page, go to the  View menu and select  “Print Layout” otherwise you will not be able to see the headers, footers and page breaks. 

 

Styles

 

If you are using Microsoft Word, go to the top menu and in the “Styles” section click the arrow at the bottom right corner and a styles menu will pop up.    I generally shrink the width so it doesn’t take up too much of the page.  In  these templates, never hand  format your text.  Us the styles.  It will keep the document internally consistent. 

The ones that are most important are the Headings.  If you use them throughout your document, you will be able to create a table of contents automatically.  If you add some from outside, the headings get really confused. I

You can hit “ctl f” and it will open a search section.  Just under the text entry box you can click “Headings” and it will show the heading. I generally move that box to the left margin and shrink it a little.  As you include headings, they will appear to the left and will help you navigate the document as they are hyperlinked to the heading section. 

Also, be careful when dropping in content from another source as it will have its own coding and will screw up your styles menu by adding them to this menu.  On the far left, click the “Paste” down arrow then “Paste Special” then “Unformatted Text”  If it then needs formatting, use this styles menu for the formatting. 

External formatting can get really crazy.
